The Blackwood collection began back in March of 2023. A family trip to the Shire of Nannup - hours spent reading on the porch, tranquil walks surrounded by the biggest most comforting trees I had ever felt, lighthearted conversation with folks who already felt like neighbours, and there it was - within moments my heart belonged to the South.
It would be another two years before, what initially seemed like an impossible dream, would become our reality but in the meantime this truly grounding, nurturing and transformative collection began to form.
We had booked into the beautiful Bootmaker’s House and inspiration began to flood in. The reflection of the light in the front room when the corner light signalled time to come in, The passage of time as the minutes turned into hours and the idea of being able to potter around, simply being without a deadline, without an agenda - “just playing whilst my heart continues to skip a beat racing to an unknown destiny”.
Even the Tiffany lampshade played its part in the design of the patchworked pieces in the Fureach Top.
